Behind the Photos
Places, gear & more
I shoot with a Sony α6000 with the Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 16-70mm ƒ/4 (with a protective lens from MeFoto) and I also have the 16-50mm ƒ/3.5-5.6 kit lens for when I need a more compact package. I of course always have my iPhone 6 on me.
For accessories I have the Manfrotto Pixi tripod thats great for taking on the go and the Manfrotto 785SHB full size tripod for when I need a little more height. I picked up the Sony monopod which is marketed for their action camera but works great for my GoPro Hero 2 and for my iPhone 6 with the tripod clamp I have from 4th Design. I also keep clear and opaque bounce cards for inside shots and a hot shoe 3 axis level if I'm doing any tripod shots where I want the horizon perfectly level. Eagle Creek's padded cubes are great for traveling and keeping everything protected.
Most of the underwater shots on here were shot with a Canon Rebel T2i with an Aquatica T2i housing (8" dome port). I no longer have this camera but a housing for my α6000 is on list of things to get before my next dive trip.
I have always been interested in chronicling my adventures and travels. I have just about every photo since 2009 geo-tagged and mapped out below. Eventually, I would like to incorporate a map into each photo post to give views a better sense of location. For a great read on travel photography and some amazing photos be sure the check out Paul Stamatiou. His work on sharing travel photos inspired and motivated me to rebuild this website to share my own adventures.
